Keeping the young voters in tune about politics is a little different than older folks. They dont have the life experience to know what certain issues brought about in the past, but hey, that can be a good thing also. When letting them know about past issues and their good and bad outcomes, they need to know what will make them different now and how times have changed, because many have the influence of their parents to hear also.
The young voters need to be a part of this administration and understand how things operate, they were a big part of the election and as such, they need to be a big part of the governing process. They are the future, but now is also a serious teaching time.
They are 'digital natives' and will direct the communication aspect of politics like no other generation.
This administration is transparent like no other has ever been and sometimes too flexible in trying to please everyone, maybe. Can anyone ever think of another time in American politics when a President who could sign a bill into law, chose to try and come together to hear everyone's opinion to make it as agreeable as possible?
He truly is trying his best to unify - that is evident.
There are many who do see this quality in the President and respect that. In my opinion, wherever he is receiving his guidance on timing, patience, and good values.. keep on keepin' on, Mr. President!
Remember it's okay to put your foot down when you've "gone the mile" (or 10) on an issue - I believe that
you were elected because people could see the transformative leader in you and the world is going through this change on many levels, if we as a people would truly open our eyes and hearts it's all right here in front of us.
Be Still and You will Hear, Be Open and You will Receive,
Heed the Messages that You are Given and You will Stand Up
for What You Believe in.
~ Without Peace There are no Authentic Beliefs.
The American people need to continue to believe in the future of our economy, housing, new energy, healthcare and country. Come on people. A year is hardly even a moment in time, especially when it comes to finding solutions and coming together to achieve them.
The state of the union address said it perfectly. This is a time of change, not to sound like a slogan, but that it the simple truth.
You see the evidence all around us like we never have before. We are at a place where our choices now make or break our direction. Due to our extreme advances in technology the entire way of the world and the way we see it and hold ourselves here is in its infancy.
Think about the speed of technology, in just the advances in communication alone in the past few years is beyond most of our wildest dreams. News from around the world comes and goes in minutes, there is a new breaking headline every hour. That in itself is mind boggling. There is so much information overload, that society is becoming numb in many ways. Take 9/11 for instance. We had such a united feeling following those horrific attacks. We were ONE nation under God,indivisible ... at least for a couple of years anyway. Now all you hear is- "its this one's fault or that one's fault", and we arent going to come together and agree on anything.
Just great. Way to go USA. Way to show our strength, compassion and leadership skills. Who REALLY cares about parties- Democratic or Republican? I still believe the answer is NOT MANY. But those "not many" become so turned off by the weary bickering that they tune out.
It is time to look at the many issues that concern the American PEOPLE.. of all parties, races, creeds and color. These characteristics won't follow us for all eternity but our positive choices and advances will.
The president has it right. He has great faith in this country and the people in it. Some may think he's got too much faith invested, but patience and time will tell. If there continues to be mud slinging and no progress is made due to strong willed, deep rooted partisanship the entire country loses. This thought needs to be carried throughout time, during all presidencies in the future.
He must have really felt the spirit during his campaign to have the kind of dedication to the people that he has continued to have despite some criticism.
It is the spirit of the campaign that is truly needed. We have the 2010 senate races in the upcoming months. What we need is the same energy that fueled the 2008 presidential election. Young voters that WILL make the difference.
Many young voters dont understand the political system, and thats a shame. They werent aware that after the huge presidential victory, they would still be needed in order for Barack Obama's agenda to pass and become laws by voting in the senate elections as well. Where are the marketing people who are going to make them aware with the use of online technology- emails, text messages, college flyers, face book upcoming senate election pages? Communication with this age group is of the utmost importance.
It was a main priority then and should be now as well, without question.
*ReEnergize the voters
*ReIgnite the flame of hope
*ReInvest in America

I hope when discussing the health care summit this evening reporters really make the point that many republican speakers were the ones looking like poor sports, and circus conductors. The election IS over.. I was glad to HEAR President Obama finally say what I ( and many, I'm sure) across America were thinking. The campaign is over. Let's work on the issue at hand and come as close to an agreement as possible. Last night we heard how President Obama was just going to produce a healthcare "ShamWow!".. this afternoon. Not so, I believe many on the opposing end they did just that. At no point did I hear that this was going to be a scrapping of a bill that congress produced and a debate on how to start from square one. Ridiculous. I am still wondering when some republicans will start walking out in protest. Surely, it would take place after they all had a shot at disrespecting the president. Oh, that's right.. we are in America. We arent supposed to respect anyone.. that would be an old fashioned value. This administration is transparent like no other has ever been and sometimes too flexible in trying to please everyone, maybe. Can anyone ever think of another time in American politics when a President who could sign a bill into law, chose to try and come together to hear everyone's opinion to make it as agreeable as possible? He truly is trying his best to unify. Good Luck! There are many who do see this quality in the President and respect that. In my opinion, wherever he is receiving his guidance on timing, patience, and good values.. keep on keepin' on.
